PUCCH Reporting of Reciprocity-Based Type-II Codebook - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18288678 titled 'PUCCH Reporting of Reciprocity-Based Type-II Codebook

The patent application describes apparatuses, systems, and methods for PUCCH reporting of reciprocity-based type-II codebook.

  • A transceiver receives a channel state information (CSI) reporting configuration from a network entity.
  • The configuration includes a codebook type associated with a precoding matrix and CSI reference signals over a set of CSI reference signal resources.
  • A processor identifies coefficients associated with the codebook based on the received set of CSI-RS resources.
  • The transceiver transmits a CSI report on a physical uplink control (PUCCH) or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) based on the codebook type.
  • The CSI report comprises CSI and the set of coefficients, with transmission on the PUCCH based on a sub-configuration value or the CSI reporting configuration.

Potential Applications: - Wireless communication systems - 5G networks - Mobile devices

Problems Solved: - Efficient reporting of channel state information - Optimization of precoding matrices - Enhanced communication reliability

Benefits: - Improved network performance - Enhanced data transmission efficiency - Better utilization of resources

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Wireless Communication Systems for 5G Networks" This technology can be utilized in telecommunications companies, network equipment manufacturers, and mobile device companies to improve the efficiency and reliability of wireless communication systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for PUCCH reporting of reciprocity-based type-II codebook are disclosed. One apparatus () includes a transceiver () that receives, from a network entity, a channel state information (“CSI”) reporting configuration comprising a codebook type associated with a precoding matrix and CSI reference signals over a set of CSI reference signal (“CSI-RS”) resources based on the CSI reporting configuration. The apparatus () includes a processor () that identifies a set of co-efficients associated with the codebook based on the received set of CSI-RS resources. The transceiver () transmits a CSI report on a physical uplink control(“PUCCH”) or a physical uplink shared channel (“PUSCH”) and based on the codebook type, the CSI report comprising CSI and the set of coefficients, wherein to transmit the CSI report on the PUCCH is based on a value of a sub-configuration or the CSI reporting configuration.
