POSITION DETECTION DEVICE, PHYSIQUE DETECTION SYSTEM, AND POSITION DETECTION METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18288576 titled 'POSITION DETECTION DEVICE, PHYSIQUE DETECTION SYSTEM, AND POSITION DETECTION METHOD

The position detection device described in the abstract utilizes processing circuitry to detect a target feature point on a person's body in a captured image, calculate a feature point position angle, detect the distance to the target feature point using a distance measuring sensor, and specify a three-dimensional position of the target feature point.

  • Processing circuitry detects a target feature point on a person's body in a captured image.
  • Feature point position angle is calculated based on the position of the target feature point on the captured image.
  • A first distance to the target feature point is detected using a distance measuring sensor.
  • The three-dimensional position of the target feature point is specified based on the calculated feature point position angle and the detected first distance.

Original Abstract Submitted

A position detection device includes processing circuitry configured to detect, on a basis of a captured image captured by a camera, a target feature point corresponding to a part of a body of a person in the captured image; calculate, on a basis of a position of the target feature point on the captured image having been detected, a feature point position angle indicating an angle of a straight line connecting the camera and the target feature point with respect to an imaging axis of the camera; detect a first distance from a distance measuring sensor to the target feature point on a basis of sensor information acquired by the distance measuring sensor; and specify a three-dimensional position of the target feature point on a basis of the calculated feature point position angle and the detected first distance.
