RESPONSE TO UE REQUESTING MSG3 PUSCH REPETITIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18288175 titled 'RESPONSE TO UE REQUESTING MSG3 PUSCH REPETITIONS

The patent application discusses systems and methods for responding to Msg3 PUSCH repetition requests from a User Equipment (UE) to a base station.

  • The UE can request repetitions of a PUSCH transmission or retransmission for a random access Msg3 and receive instructions on how to determine the number of repetitions.
  • The request from the UE can specify using certain fields to calculate the repetitions needed for the PUSCH transmission or retransmission.
  • The UE then transmits the calculated number of repetitions based on the received instructions.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems to improve the reliability of random access procedures. - It can enhance the efficiency of data transmission in mobile networks.

Problems Solved: - Addressing the need for reliable and efficient random access procedures in wireless communication systems. - Optimizing the use of resources for PUSCH transmissions and retransmissions.

Benefits: - Improved reliability and efficiency of random access procedures. - Enhanced performance of data transmission in mobile networks.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Random Access Procedures in Wireless Communication Systems This technology can be utilized by telecommunications companies to improve the performance of their mobile networks, leading to better user experience and increased customer satisfaction.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this technology impact the overall efficiency of random access procedures in wireless communication systems? 2. What are the potential cost savings for telecommunication companies implementing this technology?

Original Abstract Submitted

This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for responses to Msg3 PUSCH repetition requests of a UE. In a first aspect, the UE may transmit, to a base station, a request for repetitions of at least one of a PUSCH transmission or a PUSCH retransmission for a random access Msg3 and receive, from the base station, an indication to use one or more fields to determine a number of repetitions of the at least one of the PUSCH transmission or the PUSCH retransmission for the random access Msg3. In a second aspect, the transmitted request may indicate to the base station to use the one or more fields to determine the number of the repetitions of the at least one of the PUSCH transmission or the PUSCH retransmission. The UE may transmit the number of repetitions based on the transmitted indication.
