ENHANCED POWER HEADROOM REPORT FOR MULTI-PANEL UE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18284687 titled 'ENHANCED POWER HEADROOM REPORT FOR MULTI-PANEL UE
Simplified Explanation
Methods and apparatuses for power headroom report are disclosed in the patent application. The method involves determining one or two power headroom (PH) values when a triggering condition is met for a serving cell configured with two SRS resource sets used for UL transmission, and transmitting the determined PH values in a PHR MAC CE.
- Explanation of the patent:
- The patent involves a method for reporting power headroom values in a wireless communication system. - It specifically addresses scenarios where a serving cell is configured with two SRS resource sets for UL transmission. - The method determines one or two PH values based on triggering conditions being satisfied. - The determined PH values are then transmitted in a PHR MAC CE for the serving cell.
Potential applications of this technology: - Wireless communication systems - Mobile networks - 5G and beyond technologies
Problems solved by this technology: - Efficient power headroom reporting in complex network configurations - Optimizing UL transmission in serving cells with multiple SRS resource sets
Benefits of this technology: - Improved network performance - Enhanced resource utilization - Better quality of service for users
Potential commercial applications of this technology: - Telecommunication companies - Network equipment manufacturers - Wireless technology providers
Possible prior art: - Prior methods of power headroom reporting in wireless communication systems - Existing techniques for UL transmission optimization
Unanswered questions: 1. How does this method compare to existing power headroom reporting techniques in terms of efficiency and accuracy? 2. Are there any specific network configurations where this method may not be as effective or applicable?
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods and apparatuses for power headroom report are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method comprises determining one or two PH values when power headroom report triggering condition is satisfied for a serving cell configured with two SRS resource sets used both for codebook based UL transmission or both for non-codebook based UL transmission; and transmitting the determined one or two PH values for the serving cell in one PHR MAC CE.
