USER EQUIPMENT (UE) AND COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18284194 titled 'USER EQUIPMENT (UE) AND COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD

Simplified Explanation: The patent application addresses the issue of a user equipment (UE) needing to connect to and register with a non-public network (NPN) in a 5G system (5GS) without holding information about the NPN. It focuses on providing communication means for providing NPN information to the UE and determining network selection and connection mode when the UE connects to an NPN.

  • Communication means for providing NPN information to a UE in a 5G system (5GS)
  • Means for determining network selection and connection mode when the UE connects to an NPN

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Implementation of communication means for providing NPN information to a UE
  • Provision of means for determining network selection and connection mode for the UE

Potential Applications: The technology can be applied in 5G systems to facilitate the connection and registration of UEs with non-public networks.

Problems Solved: The technology addresses the challenge of UEs connecting to and registering with NPNs in 5G systems without holding NPN information.

Benefits:

  • Improved network selection and connection mode for UEs in 5G systems
  • Enhanced efficiency in connecting to non-public networks

Commercial Applications: The technology can be utilized in telecommunications, IoT, and other industries that rely on 5G networks for connectivity.

Questions about 5G System Connectivity: 1. How does the technology improve network selection for UEs in 5G systems? 2. What are the key benefits of providing NPN information to UEs in a 5G system?

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on the latest advancements in 5G system connectivity and network selection technologies to enhance the efficiency of UE connections.

Original Abstract Submitted

Although a user equipment (UE) needs to connect to and register with a non-public network (NPN) in a 5G system (5GS), the UE does not hold information regarding the NPN, and network selection to be performed and a connection mode of the UE are unclear in a case that the UE connects to and registers with an ON. Communication means for providing NPN information to a UE in a case that the UE needs to connect to and register with an NPN in the 5G system (5GS) is implemented and means for determining network selection to be performed and a connection mode of the UE in a case that the UE connects to and registers with an ON is provided.
