FUSE ELEMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18283760 titled 'FUSE ELEMENT
Simplified Explanation
The patent application aims to provide a fuse element that can interrupt an electrical circuit while preventing the formation of carbide during abnormal current conditions.
- The fuse element includes an insulating base material and a conductor layer on the base material's surface.
- The conductor layer is designed to physically rupture at a lower temperature than the one at which it fuses and cuts when energized, generating heat.
Potential Applications
The technology could be used in various electrical systems and devices where overcurrent protection is required, such as in power distribution systems, automotive electronics, and industrial machinery.
Problems Solved
1. Preventing the formation of carbide during abnormal current conditions. 2. Ensuring the safe interruption of electrical circuits without causing damage to surrounding components.
Benefits
1. Enhanced safety by preventing the formation of carbide. 2. Reliable interruption of electrical circuits during abnormal current conditions. 3. Cost-effective solution for overcurrent protection.
Potential Commercial Applications

Original Abstract Submitted
It is aimed to provide a fuse element capable of interrupting an electrical circuit while suppressing the formation of carbide when an abnormal current is generated. A fuse element is provided with an insulating base material and a conductor layer provided on a surface of the base material . The conductor layer is physically ruptured at a temperature lower than a temperature, at which the conductor layer is fused and cut, when the conductor layer is energized and generates heat.
