PASSENGER INFORMATION COLLECTION SYSTEM, PASSENGER INFORMATION COLLECTION METHOD AND PROGRAM RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18283525 titled 'PASSENGER INFORMATION COLLECTION SYSTEM, PASSENGER INFORMATION COLLECTION METHOD AND PROGRAM RECORDING MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system that collects passenger information by acquiring a photographic image from a camera installed in the periphery of a road. The system includes components such as a reception part, image acquisition part, confirmation part, and transmission part.

  • Reception part receives user information from a vehicle dispatching system.
  • Image acquisition part acquires a photographic image of a person who made a dispatch request for a taxicab.
  • Confirmation part confirms whether the person is wearing a mask based on the image.
  • Transmission part sends information about mask-wearing status to the company's terminal.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in transportation systems, security monitoring, and public health tracking.

Problems Solved

This system helps in verifying if passengers are following safety protocols by wearing masks, especially during the ongoing pandemic.

Benefits

The system provides real-time information on mask compliance, enhancing safety measures for both passengers and drivers.

Potential Commercial Applications

Potential commercial applications include integrating this system into taxi services, public transportation, and event venues to ensure mask compliance.

Possible Prior Art

Prior art may include facial recognition systems used for security purposes or image processing technologies for identifying objects in photos.

Unanswered Questions

How does the system handle privacy concerns related to capturing and transmitting passenger images?

The patent application does not provide details on privacy protection measures or data storage protocols.

What is the accuracy rate of the system in detecting mask-wearing behavior?

The application does not specify the reliability or precision of the confirmation part in determining mask usage.

Original Abstract Submitted

A passenger information collection system is capable of acquiring a photographic image from a camera installed in a periphery of a road and including: a reception part that receives user information on a user who made a reservation from a vehicle dispatching system that dispatches a passenger vehicle; an image acquisition part that acquires a photographic image of a person who made a dispatch request for a taxicab, from the camera based on the user information; a confirmation part that confirms whether or not a person is wearing a mask based on an image of the person in the photographic image; and a transmission part that transmits information of whether or not the person who made the dispatch request for the taxicab is wearing a mask to a terminal of a company to which the dispatch request for the taxicab is made.
