PRODUCT DESIGN GENERATION SUPPORT DEVICE, PRODUCT DESIGN GENERATION SUPPORT METHOD, AND PROGRAM STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18273516 titled 'PRODUCT DESIGN GENERATION SUPPORT DEVICE, PRODUCT DESIGN GENERATION SUPPORT METHOD, AND PROGRAM STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The product design generation support device described in the abstract is a system that acquires design information and line-of-sight information for different designs of a product, classifies them into groups, and outputs the classification results.

  • The acquisition unit gathers design information and line-of-sight information for various designs of a product.
  • The design classification unit categorizes the designs into different groups based on the acquired information.
  • The output unit presents the classification results to aid in product design decisions.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various industries such as product design, fashion, architecture, and interior design to streamline the design process and improve decision-making.

Problems Solved

1. Streamlining the product design process by organizing and presenting design information effectively. 2. Enhancing decision-making by providing clear classification results for different design options.

Benefits

1. Improved efficiency in product design. 2. Enhanced visualization of design options. 3. Facilitates better decision-making in the design process.

Potential Commercial Applications

"Enhancing Product Design Decision-Making with Design Classification Technology"

Possible Prior Art

There may be existing systems or methods that assist in product design decision-making by organizing and presenting design information effectively. However, specific prior art related to the classification of designs based on acquired information may be limited.

Unanswered Questions

How does the device acquire design information and line-of-sight information for different designs of a product?

The abstract does not provide details on the specific methods or technologies used for acquiring design information and line-of-sight information.

What criteria are used by the design classification unit to categorize the designs into different groups?

The abstract does not specify the exact criteria or algorithms employed by the design classification unit for grouping the designs.

Original Abstract Submitted

To generate and present effective information for making and determining a product design, this product design generation support device includes: an acquisition unit; a design classification unit; and an output unit. The acquisition unit acquires design information of each of a plurality of designs of the subject product that are different to each other and line-of-sight information of the subject person for those designs. The design classification unit classifies the plurality of designs into a plurality of groups according to the acquired design information and line-of-sight information. The output unit outputs the classification results.
