Questions about Vehicle Braking Technology

How does regenerative braking contribute to overall vehicle efficiency?

Regenerative braking captures and stores energy that would otherwise be lost during braking, improving the vehicle's energy efficiency.

What are the safety implications of cooperative control between the accelerator pedal and braking system?

Cooperative control ensures smoother transitions between acceleration and braking, enhancing safety and driving experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

A vehicle may include a hydraulic braking device configured to hydraulically brake at least one of front and rear wheels of the vehicle, a drive motor configured to provide driving force to the at least one of the front wheels and the rear wheels, an accelerator pedal sensor detecting an operation of an accelerator pedal, and a controller electrically connected to the accelerator pedal sensor, wherein the controller is configured to generate a hydraulic braking torque through a cooperative control with the hydraulic braking device depending on an amount of regenerative braking torque while the vehicle coasts.
