Method and System for Device Access Control - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18222657 titled 'Method and System for Device Access Control
Simplified Explanation
The method involves using sensor information from a sensor system to determine if a person is authorized to enter an access-controlled interior space and detecting their intention to enter.
- Obtaining sensor information from a sensor system that senses exterior surroundings of an access-controlled interior space.
- Determining if a person is located outside an entry to the access-controlled interior space.
- Determining if the person is authorized to enter the access-controlled interior space.
- Detecting the person's intention to enter the access-controlled interior space.
- Providing access to the access-controlled interior space if the person is authorized and intends to enter.
Potential Applications
This technology could be used in security systems for buildings, homes, and other access-controlled spaces to allow authorized individuals to enter while keeping unauthorized individuals out.
Problems Solved
This technology helps prevent unauthorized access to secure areas by accurately identifying and allowing only authorized individuals to enter.
Benefits
- Improved security by accurately determining authorized individuals and their intentions to enter. - Streamlined access control process for access-controlled interior spaces. - Enhanced safety and protection for occupants of the interior space.
Original Abstract Submitted
A method includes obtaining sensor information from a sensor system, wherein the sensor system senses exterior surroundings of an access-controlled interior space. The method also includes determining that a person is located outside an entry to the access-controlled interior space, using the sensor information, determining that the person is authorized to enter the access-controlled interior space, using the sensor information, and detecting an intention to enter the access-controlled interior space by the person. In response to determining that the person is located near the access-controlled interior space, the method includes determining that the person is authorized to enter the access-controlled interior space, and detecting the intention to enter the access-controlled interior space, providing access to the access-controlled interior space.
