SLIDING INTERLOCKING RECLINING SEAT STRUCTURE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18207966 titled 'SLIDING INTERLOCKING RECLINING SEAT STRUCTURE

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a sliding interlocking reclining seat structure for vehicles. The structure allows the seat cushion assembly to move forward and backward within the vehicle body, while the seatback assembly can move in a height direction in response to the sliding motion of the seat cushion assembly.

  • The seat cushion assembly can slide within the vehicle body.
  • The rail assembly is positioned on the lower end of the seat cushion assembly to facilitate sliding.
  • The seatback assembly is connected to the seat cushion assembly through a hinge part and can move in a height direction.
  • The latch assembly, located on the upper end of the seatback assembly, includes a guide bracket with a slot for fastening to a striker fixed to the vehicle body.
  • As the seat cushion assembly slides, the latch assembly moves vertically along the slot, causing the seatback assembly to move in the height direction.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Sliding seat cushion assembly for forward and backward movement.
  • Rail assembly for smooth sliding motion.
  • Seatback assembly connected through a hinge part for height adjustment.
  • Latch assembly with guide bracket and slot for fastening to the vehicle body.
  • Vertical movement of latch assembly causes height adjustment of the seatback assembly.

Potential Applications: The technology can be used in various vehicles such as cars, buses, trains, and airplanes to provide adjustable seating options for passengers.

Problems Solved: The technology solves the problem of limited seating adjustability in vehicles by allowing the seat cushion and seatback assemblies to move independently for optimal comfort.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced comfort for passengers during travel.
  • Improved ergonomics with adjustable seating positions.
  • Increased flexibility in seating arrangements within vehicles.

Commercial Applications: The technology can be applied in the automotive industry for manufacturing vehicles with customizable and comfortable seating options, catering to different passenger preferences and needs.

Questions about Sliding Interlocking Reclining Seat Structure: 1. What are the main components of the sliding interlocking reclining seat structure? 2. How does the latch assembly contribute to the functionality of the seatback assembly?

Original Abstract Submitted

A sliding interlocking reclining seat structure includes a seat cushion assembly configured to move forward and backward within a vehicle body, a rail assembly positioned on a lower end of the seat cushion assembly and configured so that the seat cushion assembly slides, a seatback assembly connected to the seat cushion assembly through a hinge part and configured to move in a height direction of the vehicle body in response to the sliding of the seat cushion assembly, and a latch assembly, disposed on an upper end of the seatback assembly, including a guide bracket having a slot formed therein in a height direction, and configured to be fastened to one end of a striker fixed to the vehicle body. While the seat cushion assembly slides, the latch assembly vertically moves along the slot when fastened to the striker, and the seatback assembly moves in the height direction of the vehicle body as the hinge part moves forward.
