SOLID OXIDE CELL STACK - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18204534 titled 'SOLID OXIDE CELL STACK

The abstract describes a patent application for a solid oxide cell stack, which includes a first end plate with a flow path, a solid oxide cell on the first end plate, and a second end plate with through-holes.

  • The second end plate has an inclined inner sidewall in the upper region, causing the width of the second through-hole to increase in an upward direction.
  • This design allows for improved flow and distribution of gases within the cell stack.
  • The unique configuration of the second end plate enhances the efficiency and performance of the solid oxide cell stack.
  • By optimizing gas flow, the technology aims to increase the overall effectiveness of the cell stack.
  • The innovation in the second end plate design contributes to the advancement of solid oxide cell technology.

Potential Applications: - Energy production systems - Fuel cells - Power generation applications

Original Abstract Submitted

A solid oxide cell stack includes a first end plate having a flow path, a solid oxide cell disposed on the first end plate, and a second end plate including a lower region disposed on the solid oxide cell and having a first through-hole, and an upper region disposed on the lower region and having a second through-hole. In the second end plate, an inner sidewall of the upper region forming the second through-hole is inclined such that a width of the second through-hole increases in an upward direction.
