SERVER AND POWER ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18204491 titled 'SERVER AND POWER ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

A server is described that manages power adjustment resources connected to a power network. These resources include power equipment in a facility that can supply power from a vehicle to the network and charge power from the network to the vehicle. When a user reserves the facility, the server predicts the power supply-demand balance on the reserved date and time. If a demand response (DR) for adjusting the balance is predicted, the server prepares a use plan for the facility that includes the vehicle participating in the DR. The user is incentivized when they accept the use plan.

  • The server manages power adjustment resources connected to a power network.
  • Power equipment in a facility can supply power from a vehicle to the network and charge power from the network to the vehicle.
  • The server predicts the power supply-demand balance on a reserved date and time.
  • If a demand response (DR) is predicted, the server prepares a use plan for the facility that includes the vehicle participating in the DR.
  • The user is incentivized when they accept the use plan.

Potential Applications:

  • Efficient management of power supply-demand balance in a power network.
  • Integration of electric vehicles into the power network for demand response programs.
  • Optimization of power usage in facilities with power equipment connected to vehicles.

Problems Solved:

  • Ensuring a balanced power supply-demand in a power network.
  • Efficient utilization of power equipment in facilities.
  • Encouraging user participation in demand response programs.

Benefits:

  • Improved stability and reliability of the power network.
  • Reduced energy consumption and costs through optimized power usage.
  • Incentives for users to participate in demand response programs, promoting sustainable energy practices.

Original Abstract Submitted

A server manages power adjustment resources electrically connected to a power network. The power adjustment resources include power equipment installed in a facility and configured to supply power from a vehicle to the power network and charge power from the power network to the vehicle. When reservation information for using the facility is received from a user, the server predicts a power supply-demand balance in the power network on a reserved date and time of use of the facility. When a DR for adjusting the power supply-demand balance is predicted to be performed on the reserved date and time of use, the server prepares a use plan for the facility so as to include the vehicle participating in the DR using the power equipment. The server gives an incentive to the user when the user accepts the use plan.
