System and Technique for Constructing and Utilizing Pattern Knowledge Graphs - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18189716 titled 'System and Technique for Constructing and Utilizing Pattern Knowledge Graphs

The patent application describes a system and methods for event analysis that leverage a Pattern Knowledge Graph (PKG) to analyze event data streams from a monitored system and predict future events.

  • The system utilizes a novel graph representation called a Pattern Knowledge Graph (PKG).
  • The PKG captures common relationships between events in time-series event data.
  • The system can predict possible future events in the monitored system based on the PKG.
  • The methods enable the analysis of at least one event data stream from the monitored system.
  • The system and methods provide valuable insights into the relationships between events and potential future occurrences.

Potential Applications: - Predictive maintenance in industrial systems - Anomaly detection in network security - Forecasting market trends in financial systems

Problems Solved: - Identifying patterns and relationships in event data - Predicting future events based on historical data - Enhancing decision-making processes in real-time systems

Benefits: - Improved system performance and reliability - Early detection of potential issues or failures - Enhanced predictive capabilities for proactive maintenance

Commercial Applications: Title: Predictive Event Analysis System for Industrial Maintenance This technology can be used in various industries such as manufacturing, finance, and cybersecurity to optimize operations, improve efficiency, and reduce downtime.

Questions about Event Analysis: 1. How does the Pattern Knowledge Graph (PKG) enhance event analysis? The PKG captures common relationships between events in time-series data, allowing for predictive analysis and future event forecasting.

2. What are the potential applications of this event analysis system? This system can be applied in various industries for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and trend forecasting.

Original Abstract Submitted

A system and methods for event analysis are disclosed. The system and methods can be employed analyze at least one event data stream from a monitored system. The system and methods advantageously leverage a novel graph representation, referred to herein as a Pattern Knowledge Graph (PKG), that captures common relationships between events in time-series event data, and can be used to predict possible future events that may occur in the monitored system.
