UU BASED V2N2V SIDELINK COMMUNICATIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18179225 titled 'UU BASED V2N2V SIDELINK COMMUNICATIONS

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a method for wireless communication between a group of User Equipments (UEs) using a group identifier (ID) to facilitate efficient communication.

  • The method involves a first UE transmitting an indication of a group ID associated with communication between a group of UEs, including the first UE and at least one second UE.
  • The group ID is used to identify the second UE by the first network entity via a second network entity.
  • The first UE then communicates with the second UE based on the group ID through a UMTS connection via the first and second network entities.
  • This method enables connection among UEs served by different cells, improving wireless communication efficiency.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Use of a group identifier (ID) for communication between a group of UEs.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method for wireless communication at a first user equipment (UE) and related apparatus are provided. In the method, the first UE transmits, for a first network entity, an indication of a group identifier (ID) associated with communication between a group of UEs. The group of UEs includes the first UE and at least one second UE, and the group ID is associated with an identification of the at least one second UE by the first network entity via a second network entity. The first UE further communicates, based on the group ID, with the at least one second UE through a UE-Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) connection via the first network entity and the second network entity. The method facilitates the connection among UEs served by different cells and improves the efficiency of wireless communication.
