The display apparatus includes a first communicator connected to a remote controller, a second communicator connected to an external device, a display, a memory, and a processor configured to control, based on a UI display command for key setting of the remote controller being received from the external device through the second communicator, based on UI data stored in the memory, the display to display a UI screen including a touchpad image and a plurality of keys of the remote controller, and based on at least one key among the plurality of keys on the UI screen being moved onto the touchpad image, respectively, according to a user operation input through the external device, transmit key information of the at least one key and a moved position of each of the at least one key to the remote controller through the first communicator.
