MACHINE MOTION CAM TRACK FOLLOWER - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18150883 titled 'MACHINE MOTION CAM TRACK FOLLOWER
The present application describes a variable spray system for applying spray-able material to a workpiece at different angles. The system includes a linear actuator, a cam follower assembly, and a spray arm assembly.
- The linear actuator drives the cam follower assembly to position the spray arm assembly at different angles with respect to the workpiece.
- In the first stroke of the linear actuator, the spray arm assembly is positioned at a first angle, and in the second stroke, it is positioned at a second angle.
Potential Applications:
- Automotive painting
- Industrial coating processes
- Agricultural spraying systems
Problems Solved:
- Inefficient spray application at fixed angles
- Limited flexibility in spray patterns
- Inconsistent coating coverage
Benefits:
- Enhanced precision in spray application
- Increased efficiency in coating processes
- Versatile spray angles for various workpiece shapes
Commercial Applications:
- Custom painting services
- Manufacturing industries
- Agriculture equipment suppliers
Questions about the Variable Spray System: 1. How does the variable spray system improve coating processes?
- The system allows for precise control of spray angles, leading to more uniform and efficient coating application.
2. What industries can benefit from implementing this variable spray system?
- Industries such as automotive, manufacturing, and agriculture can benefit from the versatility and efficiency of this system.
Original Abstract Submitted
The present application provides a variable spray system for spraying a workpiece with a spray-able material at different angles. The variable spray system may include a linear actuator, a cam follower assembly, and a spray arm assembly. The linear actuator drives the cam follower assembly such that the cam follower assembly positions the spray arm assembly at a first angle with respect to the workpiece in a first stroke of the linear actuator and positions the spray arm assembly at a second angle with respect to the workpiece in a second stroke of the linear actuator.
