SEAT SURFACE TEMPERATURE CONTROL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18148643 titled 'SEAT SURFACE TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Simplified Explanation:

This patent application describes a system that uses temperature information from a sensor in a vehicle to control the airflow for the seats based on the temperature of the seat surface.

  • The system includes processors and memory to receive temperature information from a sensor in a vehicle.
  • It identifies a parameter of a device that provides airflow for a seat in the vehicle.
  • Using a model based on the temperature information and the device parameter, it determines the temperature of the seat surface.
  • The system then controls the airflow provided by the device for the seat based on the temperature of the seat surface.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Integration of temperature information from a sensor in a vehicle to control seat airflow.
  • Utilization of a model to determine seat surface temperature and adjust airflow accordingly.

Potential Applications:

  • Automotive industry for enhanced comfort and temperature control in vehicles.

Problems Solved:

  • Inefficient temperature control for vehicle seats.
  • Lack of automated systems to adjust seat airflow based on seat surface temperature.

Benefits:

  • Improved comfort for passengers.
  • Energy efficiency by optimizing airflow based on actual seat temperature.

Commercial Applications:

  • "Smart" car seats with automated temperature control for luxury vehicles.
  • Integration into public transportation for enhanced passenger experience.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does this system improve the overall comfort level in vehicles? 2. What are the potential energy-saving benefits of controlling seat airflow based on seat surface temperature?

Frequently Updated Research:

Currently, there are ongoing studies on the integration of temperature control systems in vehicles to enhance passenger comfort and energy efficiency.

By focusing on the innovative use of temperature information to control seat airflow, this technology aims to revolutionize the automotive industry by providing a more comfortable and energy-efficient driving experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

A system includes one or more processors, coupled with memory, to receive, from a first sensor in a vehicle, temperature information. The one or more processors can identify a parameter of a device that provides airflow for a seat of the vehicle. The one or more processors can determine, via a model based on the temperature information and the parameter of the device, a temperature of a surface of the seat and control a temperature of the airflow provided via the device for the seat based on the temperature of the surface of the seat.
