DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING CONTROL INFORMATION AND DATA IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18106109 titled 'DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING CONTROL INFORMATION AND DATA IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a method for transmitting control information in a wireless communication system.

  • The method involves designing a CQI table to transmit channel state information (CSI) and using this designed CQI table.
  • The method also includes designing a CQI table in situations where supported services or target BLERs (Block Error Rate) differ, and using this designed CQI table.
  • Additionally, the method involves determining or configuring a suitable MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) using an appropriate MCS table corresponding to the CQI table or a designed MCS table.
  • The method further includes a SINR (Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio) mapping method and MCS configuration method based on CQI information reported from a terminal.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wireless communication systems
  • Mobile networks
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices
  • 5G networks

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient transmission of control information in wireless communication systems
  • Designing CQI tables for different scenarios with varying supported services or target BLERs
  • Determining suitable MCS for optimal data transmission based on CQI information

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved performance and reliability of wireless communication systems
  • Enhanced data transmission efficiency
  • Better utilization of available network resources
  • Improved user experience in terms of network connectivity and data transfer speed.

Original Abstract Submitted

An example method for transmitting control information in a wireless communication system may include designing a CQI table in order to transmit channel state information (CSI); or a method for using the designed CQI table. In addition, the method may comprise: a method for designing a CQI table designed in a situation in which supported services or target BLERs mutually differ; or a method for using the designed CQI table. In addition, the method may comprise a method for determining or configuring a suitable MCS using an adequate MCS table corresponding to the CQI table, or a designed MCS table. In addition, the method may comprise a SINR mapping method and MCS configuration method, based on CQI information reported from a terminal.
