AIR CONVEYANCE QUICK CONNECT FITTING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18093117 titled 'AIR CONVEYANCE QUICK CONNECT FITTING

The patent application is for a sliding connector pipe assembly that includes a pipe for directing fluid flow, a sliding connector that can slide around an end portion of the pipe, and a locking mechanism to prevent axial movement of the sliding connector.

  • The assembly features a sliding connector that can slide between extended and retracted positions relative to the pipe.
  • A locking mechanism is included to prevent the sliding connector from moving from the extended position to the retracted position, regardless of its rotational orientation around the axis of the pipe.
  • The sliding connector is designed to facilitate easy connection and disconnection of pipes in a fluid flow system.
  • The locking mechanism ensures secure positioning of the sliding connector, preventing accidental disconnection during operation.
  • This innovation provides a reliable and efficient solution for connecting pipes in various fluid flow applications.

Potential Applications: - Fluid transportation systems - Industrial piping systems - Plumbing systems

Problems Solved: - Secure connection of pipes - Prevention of accidental disconnection - Easy installation and removal of pipes

Benefits: - Enhanced safety in fluid flow systems - Improved efficiency in pipe connections - Reduced maintenance and repair costs

Commercial Applications: Title: "Innovative Sliding Connector Pipe Assembly for Fluid Flow Systems" This technology can be used in industries such as manufacturing, construction, and utilities for efficient and secure pipe connections, leading to improved productivity and cost savings.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the locking mechanism prevent axial movement of the sliding connector? The locking mechanism is designed to securely hold the sliding connector in place, preventing it from moving from the extended position to the retracted position. 2. What are the potential benefits of using this sliding connector pipe assembly in industrial applications? The benefits include enhanced safety, improved efficiency, and reduced maintenance costs in fluid flow systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

This disclosure is for a sliding connector pipe assembly. The assembly has a pipe defining an axis and configured to direct fluid flow, a sliding connector slidably positioned around an end portion of the pipe, the sliding connector being selectively slidable between an extended displacement and a retracted displacement relative to the pipe, and a locking mechanism that selectively prevents axial movement of the sliding connector from the extended displacement to the retracted displacement. The locking mechanism prevents the sliding member from transition from the extended displacement to the retracted displacement regardless of the rotational orientation of the sliding connector relative to the pipe about the axis.
