INSTRUMENTATION AMPLIFIER WITH BASE CURRENT COMPENSATOR FOR IMPROVED PERFORMANCE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18088096 titled 'INSTRUMENTATION AMPLIFIER WITH BASE CURRENT COMPENSATOR FOR IMPROVED PERFORMANCE

The abstract describes an electronic system with a bipolar junction transistor (BJT) input stage circuit, an amplifier, and a base current compensator.

  • The electronic system includes a BJT input stage circuit with two BJT inputs, two BJT outputs, and a BJT voltage input.
  • An amplifier is connected to the BJT outputs, with one input coupled to the first BJT output and the other input coupled to the second BJT output.
  • The second BJT input is connected to the output of the amplifier.
  • A base current compensator is included in the system, with outputs connected to the BJT inputs and a voltage output connected to the BJT voltage input.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in audio amplifiers, signal processing circuits, and communication systems. - It can also be applied in instrumentation and control systems where precise amplification is required.

Problems Solved: - Provides a stable and accurate amplification of signals. - Helps in compensating for base current variations in the BJT input stage.

Benefits: - Improved signal amplification accuracy. - Enhanced stability in signal processing applications. - Reduction in distortion and noise in amplified signals.

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Signal Amplification Technology for Audio Systems" This technology can be utilized in high-end audio equipment, professional sound systems, and telecommunications infrastructure. It can also find applications in medical devices and automotive electronics.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the base current compensator improve the performance of the BJT input stage? 2. What are the key advantages of using a BJT input stage circuit in electronic systems?

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic system includes a bipolar junction transistor (BJT) input stage circuit having a first BJT input, a second BJT input, a first BJT output, a second BJT output, and a BJT voltage input. An amplifier has a first amplifier input, a second amplifier input, and an amplifier output. The first amplifier input is coupled to the first BJT output and the second amplifier input is coupled to the second BJT output. The second BJT input is coupled to the amplifier output. A base current compensator has a first base compensator output, a second base compensator output, and a base compensator voltage output. The first base compensator output is coupled to the first BJT input and the second base compensator output is coupled to the second BJT input. The base compensator voltage output is coupled to the BJT voltage input.
