MOBILE BATTERY STATION FOR ASSISTING TRANSFER OF POWER FROM AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE TO A HOME OR OTHER DEVICES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18077712 titled 'MOBILE BATTERY STATION FOR ASSISTING TRANSFER OF POWER FROM AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE TO A HOME OR OTHER DEVICES

The abstract describes a vehicle charging system that includes a charging station with a controller to supply power from a vehicle to a home. The system enables charging based on predetermined voltage and current thresholds on the electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) side of the station. Additionally, a mobile battery station can supply power from multiple batteries to the EVSE side of the charging station at a voltage equal to or greater than the minimum voltage and a current greater than the minimum current.

  • The system includes a controller that allows power transfer from a vehicle to a home.
  • Charging is initiated based on specific voltage and current requirements on the EVSE side of the station.
  • A mobile battery station can supply power from multiple batteries to the EVSE side of the charging station.
  • The voltage supplied by the mobile battery station meets or exceeds the minimum required voltage, and the current supplied is greater than the minimum required current.

Original Abstract Submitted

A vehicle charging system includes a charging station comprising a controller configured to selectively supply power from a vehicle to a home. The controller enables charging in response to a predetermined minimum voltage and a predetermined minimum current on an electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) side of the charging station. A mobile battery station is configured to supply power from a plurality of batteries to the EVSE side of the charging station at a first voltage greater than or equal to the predetermined minimum voltage and a first current greater than the predetermined minimum current.
