THERMALLY MANAGED STORAGE SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18073803 titled 'THERMALLY MANAGED STORAGE SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

Simplified Explanation

A thermally managed storage system for a vehicle with an expandable partition structure that connects to a compartment in the vehicle. The partition structure includes a fixed first wall and multiple movable second walls that create a space when extended. A casing in the space connects to the vehicle's climate control system.

  • The storage system for a vehicle includes an expandable partition structure.
  • The partition structure has a fixed first wall and movable second walls.
  • When extended, the second walls create a space between them and the first wall.
  • A casing in the space connects to the vehicle's climate control system.

Potential Applications

This technology can be used in various types of vehicles, such as cars, trucks, and vans, to efficiently manage and control the temperature of storage compartments.

Problems Solved

This innovation solves the problem of effectively managing the temperature of storage spaces in vehicles, ensuring that items stored inside are kept at the desired temperature.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved storage space temperature control, which can be crucial for transporting temperature-sensitive goods in vehicles.

Commercial Applications

  • Commercial refrigerated transport vehicles
  • Food delivery services
  • Pharmaceutical transport vehicles

Prior Art

There are no known prior art related to this specific technology.

Frequently Updated Research

There is ongoing research in the automotive industry to enhance storage solutions in vehicles, including temperature management systems.

Questions about the Technology

How does this technology improve the efficiency of storage in vehicles?

This technology improves storage efficiency by providing a controlled temperature environment for items stored in the vehicle.

What are the potential cost savings associated with implementing this technology in vehicles?

Implementing this technology can lead to cost savings by reducing the risk of spoilage or damage to temperature-sensitive goods during transport.

Original Abstract Submitted

A thermally managed storage system for a vehicle that includes a partition structure that couples with and is expandable in a compartment of the vehicle. The partition structure includes a first wall fixed with the compartment and a plurality of second walls that are each moveable between a retracted position and an extended position. The plurality of second walls forms a space between the first wall and the plurality of second walls in the extended position. A casing is disposed in a space and selectively couples with a climate control system of the vehicle via a fluid connection with the compartment.
