MULTI-DIMENSIONAL VOICE-BASED DIGITAL AUTHENTICATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18072903 titled 'MULTI-DIMENSIONAL VOICE-BASED DIGITAL AUTHENTICATION

The patent application describes systems and methods for multi-dimensional voice-based digital authentication.

  • Receiving a request from a remote user device to access a protected digital resource.
  • Displaying a prompt on the device requesting a spoken password expression.
  • Capturing the spoken expression in response to the prompt.
  • Determining if the expression meets predetermined attributes of the password.
  • Calculating a voice pattern representation of the expression.
  • Checking if the voice pattern representation matches the user's stored voice pattern in a database.
  • Authorizing access to the protected digital resource if the expression meets the password attributes and matches the user's voice pattern.

Potential Applications: - Secure access to digital resources - Identity verification in online transactions - Enhanced security in voice-controlled devices

Problems Solved: - Preventing unauthorized access to digital resources - Enhancing user authentication security - Mitigating risks of identity theft

Benefits: - Improved security measures - Convenient and user-friendly authentication process - Reduced likelihood of unauthorized access

Commercial Applications: Voice-based authentication technology can be utilized in various industries such as banking, e-commerce, healthcare, and government agencies to enhance security measures and protect sensitive information.

Prior Art: Prior art related to voice-based authentication systems and methods may include existing voice recognition technologies and biometric authentication methods.

Frequently Updated Research: Research on improving voice recognition accuracy, enhancing biometric authentication algorithms, and increasing the efficiency of multi-dimensional authentication systems is ongoing in the field of digital security.

Questions about Multi-Dimensional Voice-Based Digital Authentication: 1. How does this technology compare to traditional password-based authentication methods? 2. What measures are in place to ensure the security and privacy of stored voice patterns in the database?

Original Abstract Submitted

Systems and methods for multi-dimensional voice-based digital authentication are provided. Methods include receiving, at a central server from a remote user device, a request to access a protected digital resource; displaying a prompt, at the device, requesting a spoken password expression; capturing, at the device, an expression spoken in response to the prompt; determining that the expression satisfies predetermined attributes of the password expression; calculating a voice pattern representation of the expression; determining that the voice pattern representation of the expression satisfies a threshold similarity to a voice pattern representation of the user that is stored in a database at the central server; and, in response to the expression satisfying the predetermined attributes of the password expression and satisfying the threshold similarity to the voice pattern representation of the user that is stored in the database at the central server, authorizing the device to access the protected digital resource.
