USER EQUIPMENT TO OBJECT ASSOCIATION BEAM MANAGEMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18069184 titled 'USER EQUIPMENT TO OBJECT ASSOCIATION BEAM MANAGEMENT

The abstract describes a patent application where a user equipment (UE) can receive a sensing signal or a channel state information (CSI) reference signal from a network node. The UE can then transmit an indication of a broken association with an object based on the received signal. The UE measures the strength of the signal and may transmit the indication if the signal strength is below a threshold value.

  • User equipment (UE) can receive sensing signals or CSI reference signals from a network node.
  • The UE can transmit an indication of a broken association with an object based on the received signal.
  • The UE measures the strength of the signal to determine if it is below a threshold value.
  • The UE may measure reference signal receive power (RSRP) or relative RSRP backoff associated with the signal.
  • The indication of a broken association is transmitted if the signal strength is below the threshold value.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in wireless communication systems to improve object association and signal strength measurements. - It can enhance the reliability and efficiency of communication between UEs and network nodes.

Problems Solved: - Addressing issues related to object association and signal strength measurement in wireless communication systems. - Improving the accuracy of broken association indications based on signal strength measurements.

Benefits: - Enhanced reliability and efficiency in wireless communication systems. - Improved object association and signal strength measurement accuracy.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Wireless Communication System for Improved Object Association This technology can be applied in telecommunications, IoT devices, and smart city infrastructure to optimize communication reliability and efficiency.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this technology improve the overall performance of wireless communication systems? - This technology enhances object association and signal strength measurements, leading to improved communication reliability and efficiency.

2. What are the key factors that determine the threshold value for signal strength in this technology? - The threshold value for signal strength is determined based on the specific requirements of the wireless communication system and the desired level of reliability.

Original Abstract Submitted

A user equipment (UE) may receive at least one of a sensing signal for an object associated with the UE or of a channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) from a network node. The UE may transmit an indication of a broken association with the object based on at least one of the sensing signal or the CSI-RS. The UE may measure a strength of at least one of the sensing signal or the CSI-RS. The UE may measure at least one of a reference signal receive power (RSRP) or a relative RSRP backoff associated with at least one of the sensing signal or the CSI-RS. The UE may transmit the indication of the broken association in response to the measured strength of at least one of the sensing signal or the CSI-RS being less than or equal to a signal strength threshold value.
