FREQUENCY SELECTIVITY BASED CQI AND PMI REPORTING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18066268 titled 'FREQUENCY SELECTIVITY BASED CQI AND PMI REPORTING

The abstract describes a patent application where a network node transmits a CSI-RS to a UE, which then sends a CSI report based on the CSI-RS for at least one UE-selected bandwidth portion of a downlink BWP. The report includes at least one CQI for the selected bandwidth portion, which is associated with a full-duplex operation.

  • Network node transmits CSI-RS to UE
  • UE sends CSI report based on CSI-RS for selected bandwidth portion of downlink BWP
  • Report includes at least one CQI for selected bandwidth portion
  • Selected bandwidth portion associated with full-duplex operation

Potential Applications: - Wireless communication systems - 5G networks - IoT devices

Problems Solved: - Efficient utilization of bandwidth - Improved communication reliability - Enhanced network performance

Benefits: - Increased data transmission efficiency - Better signal quality for users - Optimal resource allocation

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Wireless Communication Technology for 5G Networks" This technology can be used in telecommunications companies to improve network performance and enhance user experience in 5G networks. It can also be integrated into IoT devices to ensure reliable and efficient communication.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this technology improve the efficiency of data transmission in wireless networks? 2. What are the key advantages of using CSI reports for bandwidth allocation in 5G networks?

Original Abstract Submitted

A network node may transmit a CSI-RS to a UE. The UE may transmit a CSI report corresponding to at least one UE-selected bandwidth portion of a downlink BWP to the network node based on the CSI-RS. The CSI report may include at least one CQI for the at least one UE-selected bandwidth portion of the downlink BWP. The downlink BWP may be associated with a full-duplex operation.
