TELEMETRY MANAGEMENT IN A FLEET OF INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEMS EQUIPPED WITH HETEROGENOUS COMPUTING PLATFORMS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18063725 titled 'TELEMETRY MANAGEMENT IN A FLEET OF INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEMS EQUIPPED WITH HETEROGENOUS COMPUTING PLATFORMS

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes systems and methods for managing telemetry in a fleet of Information Handling Systems (IHSs) with different computing platforms. Each IHS transmits policies to multiple IHSs, each equipped with a heterogeneous computing platform. An orchestrator device in each IHS collects telemetry data from a subset of devices based on the policies.

  - Managing telemetry data in diverse computing environments can be challenging due to the varied nature of devices and platforms, requiring specialized systems for efficient data collection and analysis.

2. *How does the use of orchestrator devices in each IHS improve telemetry management in heterogeneous computing platforms?*

  - Orchestrator devices play a crucial role in collecting telemetry data from specific devices based on policies, streamlining the data collection process and ensuring efficient monitoring of the entire fleet.

Original Abstract Submitted

Systems and methods for telemetry management in a fleet of Information Handling Systems (IHSs) equipped with heterogenous computing platforms are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an IHS may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the IHS to: transmit policies to a plurality of IHSs, wherein each of the plurality of IHSs includes a heterogeneous computing platform having a plurality of devices, where a selected one of the plurality of devices in each of the plurality of IHSs is configured to operate as an orchestrator, and where each orchestrator is configured to collect telemetry from at least a subset of the plurality of devices based upon a respective one of the policies; and receive the telemetry.
