METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR UPLINK CHANNEL AND SIGNAL REPETITION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18062521 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR UPLINK CHANNEL AND SIGNAL REPETITION
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes methods and apparatuses for improving uplink channel and signal repetition in a wireless communication system. Here are the key points:
- The method involves operating a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system.
- The UE receives information indicating a set of transmission configuration indication (TCI) states.
- It also receives a configuration for a first physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH).
- The UE identifies a set of uplink (UL) TCI states in a beam indication instance based on the received information.
- It further identifies a mapping configuration and a set of consecutive slots for transmitting on the first PUSCH based on the received configuration.
- The UE associates the TCI states in the set of UL TCI states with consecutive slots in the set of consecutive slots based on the mapping configuration.
- Finally, the UE transmits on the first PUSCH in the consecutive slots according to the respectively associated TCI states.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Wireless communication systems
- Mobile networks
- Internet of Things (IoT) devices
- 5G and beyond networks
Problems solved by this technology:
- Improved uplink channel and signal repetition
- Efficient utilization of resources
- Enhanced reliability and performance of wireless communication systems
Benefits of this technology:
- Increased capacity and throughput in wireless networks
- Reduced interference and improved signal quality
- Enhanced reliability and coverage for user equipment
- Improved overall performance of wireless communication systems
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods and apparatuses for uplink channel and signal repetition in a wireless communication system. A method for operating a user equipment (UE) includes receiving information indicating a set of transmission configuration indication (TCI) states; receiving a configuration for a first physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); and identifying, according to the information, a set of uplink (UL) TCI states in a beam indication instance. The method further includes identifying, according to the configuration, a mapping configuration and a set of consecutive slots for transmitting on the first PUSCH; associating TCI states in the set of UL TCI states with consecutive slots in the set of consecutive slots, respectively, based on the mapping configuration; and transmitting on the first PUSCH in the consecutive slots according to the respectively associated TCI states.
