SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE, MICROPHONE DEVICE, SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18034492 titled 'SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE, MICROPHONE DEVICE, SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

A signal processing device determines if a relationship between signals from two microphones satisfies a condition, starting processing when the condition is met and continuing even after it is no longer satisfied.

  • The device analyzes signals from two microphones, one inside the ear canal and one outside.
  • Processing begins when a specific condition is met, and continues even if that condition changes.
  • This technology allows for continuous processing of sound signals based on specific conditions.

Key Features and Innovation

  • Utilizes signals from two microphones, one inside the ear canal and one outside, to determine processing conditions.
  • Allows for continuous processing of sound signals even after the initial condition is no longer met.
  • Enhances the analysis of sound signals based on specific criteria.

Potential Applications

  • Hearing aid devices
  • Noise cancellation systems
  • Speech recognition technology

Problems Solved

  • Ensures continuous processing of sound signals based on specific conditions.

Original Abstract Submitted

A signal processing device determines whether a relationship between a first signal and a second signal satisfies a first condition, the first signal being based on an output of a first microphone inserted into an ear canal of a user, the second signal being based on an output of a second microphone positioned outside the ear canal. The signal processing device starts processing relating to transmission of a sound signal when it is determined that the first condition is satisfied, and that continues the processing, even after the first condition is not satisfied, during a period in which a second condition that differs from the first condition is satisfied.
