Cluster Search on Maps Applications - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18010682 titled 'Cluster Search on Maps Applications

The patent application pertains to methods, systems, and apparatus for clustering points of interest (POIs) based on their locations and distances from each other.

  • Receives a search query for a collection of POIs
  • Identifies locations for each POI in the collection
  • Determines distances between each POI
  • Clusters POIs based on their distances
  • Transmits clustered location data for each cluster of POIs

Potential Applications: - Location-based services - Travel planning - Marketing and advertising targeting

Problems Solved: - Efficient organization of POIs - Improved user experience in finding nearby attractions - Enhanced data analysis for businesses

Benefits: - Enhanced search results for users - Optimized route planning - Targeted marketing strategies

Commercial Applications: Title: "Location-Based Marketing Solutions" This technology can be utilized by companies in the tourism, retail, and advertising industries to target customers based on their proximity to specific POIs.

Questions about Clustering Points of Interest: 1. How does this technology improve the user experience in finding points of interest? 2. What are the potential privacy concerns associated with clustering location data for POIs?

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in location-based clustering algorithms and their impact on personalized recommendations for users.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer-readable storage media for clustering points of interest (POIs). A method includes receiving, by one or more processors, a search query for a collection of POIs. The one or more processors may identify one or more locations for each POI in the collection of POIs. Based on the one or more locations for each POI in the collection of POIs, the one or more processors may determine the distances between each POI. Based on the distances between each POI, the one or more processors may determine one or more clusters of POIs. The one or more processors may transmit clustered location data, the clustered location data including, for each of the one or more clusters of POIs, the location data of each POI in the cluster.
