A cap configured to engage a male connector includes a housing having an open first end, a second end, and at least one sidewall extending between the first end and the second end. The cap also includes an outer absorbent support disposed in the recess between the sidewall of the housing and the protrusion and an inner absorbent support disposed in the recess between the protrusion and the center post configured to contain a cleaning solution for cleaning and/or disinfecting portions of the male connector including the tip of the male connector engaged to the cap.
