DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING RESPONSE PACKET - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17988635 titled 'DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING RESPONSE PACKET
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a method for sharing information between electronic devices to determine if they have received a data packet from a third device within a specific time period. If both devices fail to receive the packet, a negative acknowledgment (NACK) is sent to the third device. The method also includes checking if the retransmitted packet is received by both devices in a second time period.
- The method involves sharing information between electronic devices to determine if they have received a data packet.
- If both devices fail to receive the packet within a specific time period, a negative acknowledgment (NACK) is sent to the sender.
- The method also includes checking if the retransmitted packet is received by both devices in a second time period.
Potential Applications
This technology can be applied in various fields where reliable data transmission is crucial, such as:
- Wireless communication systems
- Internet of Things (IoT) devices

- Reduced latency and improved overall performance
Original Abstract Submitted
A first electronic device may share information about a received packet with a second electronic device to obtain first information indicating whether the first electronic device and the second electronic device each receive a data packet from the third electronic device during a first time period, in case that the first information indicates that the first electronic device and the second electronic device each fail to receive the data packet during the first time period, transmit a first response packet indicating a negative acknowledgment (NACK) to the third electronic device, and share the information about the received packet with the second electronic device to obtain second information indicating whether the first electronic device and the second electronic device each receive the data packet retransmitted from the third electronic device during a second time period after the first time period.
