WIRELESS NETWORK AND METHODS TO MAINTAIN MA PDU SESSION AT NSACF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17936738 titled 'WIRELESS NETWORK AND METHODS TO MAINTAIN MA PDU SESSION AT NSACF

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a communication system for 5G or 6G networks that enables higher data transmission rates. It introduces a method for maintaining a MA (Mobile Access) PDU (Protocol Data Unit) session at a NSACF (Network Slice Anchor Control Function) entity.

  • The method involves a SMF (Session Management Function) entity determining that a PDU session is the MA PDU session based on an indication from a UE (User Equipment).
  • Once the determination is made, the SMF entity informs the NSACF entity that the PDU session is the MA PDU session.
  • This approach allows the wireless network to accurately maintain the count of MA PDU sessions, even when they are active.

Potential Applications

This technology can have various applications in the field of wireless communication systems, including:

  • 5G and 6G networks: The innovation can be implemented in the next-generation wireless networks to support higher data transmission rates.
  • Mobile data services: It can enhance the performance and efficiency of mobile data services, enabling faster and more reliable connections.
  • Internet of Things (IoT): The technology can benefit IoT devices by providing improved connectivity and data transmission capabilities.

Problems Solved

The patent application addresses the following problems in wireless communication systems:

  • Higher data transmission rates: The innovation aims to support higher data transmission rates in 5G and 6G networks, which are essential for emerging technologies and applications.
  • Accurate session management: By accurately identifying and maintaining MA PDU sessions, the technology ensures efficient management of network resources and improves overall system performance.

Benefits

The technology offers several benefits in the field of wireless communication systems:

  • Improved data transmission rates: By supporting higher data transmission rates, the innovation enables faster and more efficient communication between devices.
  • Enhanced network performance: Accurate session management ensures optimal utilization of network resources, leading to improved overall network performance.
  • Better user experience: The technology results in faster and more reliable connections, providing users with a seamless and high-quality communication experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments herein disclose a wireless network and methods to maintain a MA PDU session at a NSACF entity. The method includes determining, by a SMF entity, that a PDU session is the MA PDU session based on an indication from a UE. Further, the method includes indicating, by the SMF entity, that the PDU session is the MA PDU session to the NSACF entity in response to determination. The wireless network may maintain the count accurately even though the PDU session is a MA PDU session.
