PAGING COLLISION HANDLING - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17931338 titled 'PAGING COLLISION HANDLING
Simplified Explanation
The patent application relates to wireless communication technology, specifically focusing on optimizing power utilization in paging occasions for user equipment (UE).
- User equipment (UE) receives configuration information identifying possible paging occasions and connected mode communications.
- UE receives a paging occasion that does not collide with connected mode communications, selected based on power utilization characteristics.
- The technology aims to improve power efficiency in wireless communication systems.
Potential Applications
- Mobile communication networks
- Internet of Things (IoT) devices
- Smart city infrastructure
Problems Solved
- Power consumption optimization in wireless communication
- Efficient management of paging occasions for UE
Benefits
- Improved battery life for devices
- Enhanced network performance
- Reduced interference in wireless communication systems
Original Abstract Submitted
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information identifying a set of possible paging occasions and a set of connected mode communications. The UE may receive paging in a paging occasion, of the set of possible paging occasions, for which there is not a collision between the paging occasion and the set of connected mode communications and that is selected from the set of possible paging occasions based at least in part on a power utilization characteristic. Numerous other aspects are described.
