MULTI-PANEL POWER REPORTING TECHNIQUES - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17915979 titled 'MULTI-PANEL POWER REPORTING TECHNIQUES
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. It introduces a user equipment (UE) that can communicate through two different panels. The UE is capable of determining separate power headroom values for each panel. The power headroom values represent the available power resources for each panel. The UE then sends a report to a base station, indicating the power headroom values for each panel. Upon receiving the report, the base station can adjust the power for either panel accordingly.
- User equipment (UE) can communicate through two panels.
- UE determines separate power headroom values for each panel.
- UE sends a report to the base station indicating the power headroom values.
- Base station adjusts the power for either panel based on the received report.
Potential Applications
- Wireless communication systems and devices
- Mobile devices with multiple panels or antennas
- Base stations and network infrastructure
Problems Solved
- Efficient power management in wireless communication devices
- Optimizing power allocation for different panels or antennas
- Improving overall system performance and reliability
Benefits
- Enhanced wireless communication capabilities
- Improved power efficiency and resource allocation
- Better signal quality and coverage
- Increased network capacity and throughput
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate via a first panel of the UE and a second panel of the UE. The UE may determine at least one of a first power headroom value for the first panel or a second power headroom value for the second panel, the first power headroom value being specific to the first panel and the second power headroom value being specific to the second panel. The UE may transmit, to a base station, a report indicating at least one of the first power headroom value for the first panel or the second power headroom value for the second panel. In some examples, the base station may receive the report and transmit a signal indicating a power adjustment for at least one of the first panel or the second panel in response to receiving the report.
