FLEXIBLE BATTERY AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17912532 titled 'FLEXIBLE BATTERY AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

The present disclosure introduces a flexible battery and an electronic device in the battery technical field. The flexible battery consists of a flexible encapsulation structure, multiple battery cells, and a second flexible encapsulation layer. The battery cells are positioned on one side of the first flexible encapsulation layer, spaced at intervals in a specific direction. The second flexible encapsulation layer includes a protruding part covering the battery cell and a recessed part between adjacent battery cells. The first flexible encapsulation layer has a higher elastic modulus compared to the second flexible encapsulation layer.

  • Flexible battery design with a flexible encapsulation structure and multiple battery cells.
  • Second flexible encapsulation layer with protruding and recessed portions for enhanced flexibility.
  • Battery cells arranged at intervals along a specific direction for efficient use of space.
  • Higher elastic modulus in the first flexible encapsulation layer for added durability.
  • Innovation in battery design for improved flexibility and performance.

Potential Applications: - Wearable technology - Flexible electronics - Medical devices - IoT devices - Portable electronics

Problems Solved: - Limited flexibility in traditional battery designs - Space constraints in electronic devices - Durability issues in flexible batteries

Benefits: - Enhanced flexibility - Improved performance - Space-efficient design - Increased durability - Versatile applications

Commercial Applications: Flexible batteries can be used in various industries such as wearable technology, consumer electronics, healthcare, and IoT devices. The innovation in battery design opens up new possibilities for flexible and durable electronic devices in the market.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the elastic modulus affect the performance of the flexible battery? 2. What are the key advantages of using a flexible encapsulation structure in battery design?

Original Abstract Submitted

The present disclosure provides a flexible battery and an electronic device, belonging to the technical field of batteries. The flexible battery of the present disclosure includes a flexible encapsulation structure, a plurality of battery cells and a second flexible encapsulation layer. The plurality of battery cells are arranged on a side of the first flexible encapsulation layer and arranged at intervals along a first direction. The second flexible encapsulation layer includes a protruding portion covering the battery cell and a recessed portion located between adjacent battery cells. An elastic modulus of the first flexible encapsulation layer is greater than that of the second flexible encapsulation layer.
