SLIDING DOOR DEVICE FOR VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17885256 titled 'SLIDING DOOR DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a sliding door device for a vehicle that includes a door, a door arm, a lower slider, a lower arm plate, and a first rail.
- The door is designed to open or close a door opening portion in a vehicle body.
- The door arm is connected to the door and can move along the side sill of the vehicle body.
- The lower slider is attached to the second end of the door arm and can move in a straight line along the side sill.
- The lower arm plate connects the door arm and the lower slider and can perform both cycloidal rotation and rectilinear movement when the lower slider moves along the side sill.
- The first rail provides a route for the lower arm plate to perform the cycloidal rotation and rectilinear movement.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Sliding door systems for various types of vehicles, such as cars, vans, buses, or trains.
- Automotive industry for improving the functionality and convenience of vehicle doors.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Provides a mechanism for smooth and efficient opening and closing of vehicle doors.
- Allows for a compact and space-saving design of sliding door systems.
- Enables the door to move along the side sill without obstruction.
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved ease of access for passengers entering or exiting the vehicle.
- Enhanced safety and convenience for loading and unloading cargo.
- Simplified operation and reduced maintenance requirements for sliding door systems.
Original Abstract Submitted
A sliding door device for a vehicle includes a door configured to open or close a door opening portion formed in a vehicle body; a door arm including a first end portion rotatably connected to an end portion of the door, and a second end portion configured to be movable along a side sill of the vehicle body; a lower slider coupled to the second end portion of the door arm and configured to be rectilinearly movable along the side sill of the vehicle body; a lower arm plate connecting the second end portion of the door arm and the lower slider and configured to perform a cycloidal rotation and a rectilinear movement when the lower slider moves along the side sill; and a first rail providing a route through which the lower arm plate performs the cycloidal rotation and the rectilinear movement when the lower slider moves along the side sill.
