METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING RESPONSE AND BEHAVIOR ON CHATS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17875567 titled 'METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING RESPONSE AND BEHAVIOR ON CHATS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system for predicting a user's response in a multi-user environment. Here are the key points:

  • The system includes a display engine that shows a user interface (UI) on a display screen for inputting a message based on received messages from contacts.
  • A first processing engine generates a list of correlated candidate messages associated with the input message using the received messages.
  • A second processing engine predicts a set of relevant candidate messages from the list of correlated candidate messages.
  • A third processing engine generates a priority list of candidate messages, including the predicted set of relevant candidate messages.
  • The display engine then displays appropriate candidate messages on the screen based on their priority in the generated list.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Messaging applications: This system can be used in messaging apps to suggest relevant responses to users based on their previous conversations.
  • Customer support: It can be implemented in customer support systems to provide automated responses to common queries.
  • Social media platforms: The system can assist users in composing replies to messages or comments on social media platforms.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Time-consuming message composition: This system helps users save time by suggesting appropriate responses based on their previous messages.
  • Improving response accuracy: By analyzing received messages and predicting relevant responses, this system can enhance the accuracy of user responses.
  • Enhancing user experience: The system provides a more user-friendly interface by displaying relevant candidate messages, making it easier for users to respond.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Time-saving: Users can quickly select and send appropriate responses without having to type them from scratch.
  • Improved efficiency: The system streamlines the process of composing messages by suggesting relevant options, increasing overall efficiency.
  • Enhanced user satisfaction: By providing relevant suggestions, the system improves the user experience and satisfaction with the messaging or communication platform.

Original Abstract Submitted

Provided is a system for predicting a response of a user in a multi-user environment. The system includes a display engine configured to display a user interface (UI) on a display screen for inputting a message corresponding to received messages from one or more contacts, a first processing engine configured to generate a list of correlated candidate messages associated with an input message using received messages, a second processing engine configured to predict a set of correlated candidate messages relevant to the input message from the list of correlated candidate messages, and a third processing engine configured to generate a priority list of candidate messages including the predicted set of correlated candidate messages. The display engine displays, on the display screen, at least one of one or more appropriate candidate messages based on a priority associated with the appropriate candidate messages in the generated priority list of candidate messages.
