MODULAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR A WEARABLE DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17833784 titled 'MODULAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR A WEARABLE DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a modular light assembly designed to be integrated with wearable devices, such as smartwatches. The assembly can connect to the device housing and band of the wearable device and receive communication from it through inductive energy transfer. This allows the assembly to turn on or off one or more light sources based on the communication received. The assembly may also include a button and switch to manually control the light source(s).

  • Modular light assembly designed for wearable devices
  • Can connect to smartwatches and other wearable devices
  • Receives communication from the device through inductive energy transfer
  • Can activate or deactivate light sources based on the received communication
  • Includes a button and switch for manual control of the light source(s)

Potential Applications

  • Enhancing the visibility and aesthetics of wearable devices
  • Providing additional functionality and customization options for wearable devices
  • Improving user experience and convenience by integrating lighting features into wearable devices

Problems Solved

  • Limited visibility of wearable devices in low-light conditions
  • Lack of customization options for wearable devices
  • Inconvenience of carrying separate lighting accessories for wearable devices

  • Enhanced aesthetics and personalization options for wearable devices
  • Simplified user experience by integrating lighting features into the device itself

Original Abstract Submitted

A modular light assembly is designed for integration with wearable devices. For example, the modular light assembly can connect with a wearable device, such as a smartwatch, including both a device housing and a band of the wearable device. Additionally, the modular light assembly can receive communication from the wearable device through various means, including inductive energy transfer. As a result, the modular light assembly can receive communication from the wearable device to activate (turn on) or deactivate (turn off) one or more light sources of the modular light assembly. Additionally, or alternatively, the modular light assembly device may include a button coupled to a switch that can activate or deactivate the light source(s).
