This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17792553 titled 'Systems and Methods for Detecting a Vehicle Type in Order to Adapt Directions and Navigation Instructions
Simplified Explanation
The present disclosure describes a system for detecting a vehicle type to customize navigation instructions based on the identified vehicle type.
- The system uses one or more vehicle type identification signals to determine the type of vehicle.
- Navigation information is then customized based on the identified vehicle type.
- The system automatically adapts directions and navigation instructions to mitigate noise in the signal.
Potential Applications
This technology could be applied in various industries such as transportation, logistics, and automotive to improve navigation systems for different types of vehicles.
Problems Solved
This technology solves the problem of generic navigation instructions that may not be suitable for all types of vehicles, leading to inefficiencies and potential safety issues.
Benefits
The benefits of this technology include improved accuracy in navigation instructions, enhanced user experience, and optimized routes for specific vehicle types.
Potential Commercial Applications
Potential commercial applications of this technology include integrating it into existing navigation systems, developing specialized navigation apps for different vehicle types, and offering customized navigation solutions for commercial fleets.
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art could be the use of vehicle detection systems in autonomous vehicles to adapt driving behavior based on the type of vehicle detected on the road.
Unanswered Questions
How does the system differentiate between different vehicle types based on the identification signals?
The system likely uses a database or algorithm to match the received signals with known patterns associated with specific vehicle types.
What measures are in place to ensure the accuracy of the identified vehicle type?
The system may incorporate validation checks or multiple signal sources to verify the detected vehicle type before customizing navigation instructions.
Original Abstract Submitted
The present disclosure provides computer-implemented methods, systems, and devices for detecting a vehicle type in order to adapt directions and navigation instructions mitigating noise in a signal. A computing device initiates, in response to user input, a navigation application. The computing device further detects one or more vehicle type identification signals associated with a vehicle. The computing device further automatically determines, using the one or more signals, a vehicle type associated with the vehicle. The computing device further receives from the navigation application, navigation information, wherein the navigation information is customized based on the determined vehicle type.
