SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTO-COMMISSIONING OF NETWORK DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17791209 titled 'SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTO-COMMISSIONING OF NETWORK DEVICE
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a computer-implemented method for network switch auto-commissioning, which involves generating configuration files for network devices and mobile backhaul nodes, transmitting these files, obtaining IP addresses, and registering the devices with network nodes.
- Simplified Explanation:
- Automatically generate configuration files for network devices and mobile backhaul nodes - Transmit configuration files to devices - Obtain IP address pool - Register devices with network nodes
- Potential Applications:
This technology could be applied in telecommunications, data centers, and IoT networks for automated device setup and configuration.
- Problems Solved:
This technology streamlines the process of setting up network devices, reducing manual configuration errors and saving time for network administrators.
- Benefits:
The benefits of this technology include increased efficiency, reduced human error, and faster deployment of network devices.
- Potential Commercial Applications:
Commercial applications of this technology could include network equipment vendors, managed service providers, and telecommunications companies looking to automate network device provisioning.
- Possible Prior Art:
One possible prior art could be the use of configuration management tools in network administration to automate device setup and configuration.
- Unanswered Questions:
1. How does this technology handle security configurations for network devices? 2. Can this method be easily integrated with existing network management systems?
Original Abstract Submitted
A computer-implemented method for network switch auto-commissioning includes generating, automatically, a device configuration file that includes parameters and initial settings for a network device; generating, automatically, a delta file that includes parameters and initial settings for a mobile backhaul (MBH) node communicatively connected to the network device; transmitting the device configuration file to the network device; obtaining an IP address pool for the network device and connected network devices; and registering the network device with one or more network nodes.
