UCI ENHANCEMENT FOR UPLINK TRANSMISSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17758457 titled 'UCI ENHANCEMENT FOR UPLINK TRANSMISSION
Simplified Explanation
The patent application relates to wireless communication and specifically focuses on the selection of uplink communication resources for transmitting enhanced uplink control information (UCI) to a base station. The UCI includes feedback bits and enhancement bits, with the enhancement bits indicating information associated with negative acknowledgement (NACK) bits.
- User equipment (LIE) selects uplink communication resources based on the size of a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) codebook and an enhancement number.
- The selected uplink communication resources are used to transmit the enhanced UCI to a base station.
- The enhanced UCI includes a set of feedback bits, which includes at least one NACK bit, and a set of enhancement bits that provide additional information related to the NACK bit.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Wireless communication systems
- Mobile networks
- Internet of Things (IoT) devices
- 5G and future generations of wireless networks
Problems solved by this technology:
- Efficient selection of uplink communication resources for transmitting UCI
- Improved reliability and performance of wireless communication systems
- Enhanced feedback mechanism for negative acknowledgements
Benefits of this technology:
- Optimal utilization of uplink communication resources
- Improved transmission efficiency and reliability
- Enhanced feedback mechanism for error detection and correction
Original Abstract Submitted
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (LIE) may select uplink communication resources to be used to transmit enhanced uplink control information (UCI) to a base station based at least in part on a size of a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) codebook and an enhancement number, and transmit the enhanced UCI using the selected uplink communication resources, the enhanced UCI comprising a set of feedback bits and a set of enhancement bits, the set of feedback bits comprising at least one negative acknowledgement (NACK) bit, and wherein the set of enhancement hits indicate information associated with the at least one NACK bit. Numerous other aspects are provided.
