METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING OR RECEIVING DATA PACKET IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17754755 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING OR RECEIVING DATA PACKET IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a data packet in a wireless communication system. The method involves provisioning virtual network functions (VNFs) corresponding to network functions (NFs) in a core network, registering the provisioned VNFs, receiving a packet from a user equipment (UE), determining a path for transmitting the packet, and transmitting the packet through the determined path.
- Provisioning at least one virtual network function (VNF) corresponding to network functions (NFs) in a core network
- Registering the provisioned VNFs in the core network
- Receiving a packet from a user equipment (UE)
- Determining a path for transmitting the packet
- Transmitting the packet through the determined path
Potential applications of this technology:
- Wireless communication systems
- Core networks in telecommunications
Problems solved by this technology:
- Efficient transmission and reception of data packets in a wireless communication system
- Provisioning and management of virtual network functions
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved efficiency in transmitting and receiving data packets
- Flexibility in provisioning and managing virtual network functions in a core network
Original Abstract Submitted
Provided are a method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a data packet in a wireless communication system, the method including: provisioning at least one virtual network function (VNF) corresponding to some or all of a plurality of network functions (NFs) included in a first core network; registering, in the first core network, the provisioned at least one VNF; receiving a first packet from a user equipment (UE) and determining a path through which the first packet is to be transmitted, from among a first path between a user plane function (UPF) of the first core network and an electronic device and a second path between a UPF of a second core network and the electronic device; and transmitting the first packet through the determined path.
