ENHANCED SIDELINK RESOURCE POOLS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17529630 titled 'ENHANCED SIDELINK RESOURCE POOLS
Simplified Explanation
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in this patent application. The innovation provides a user equipment (UE) with the ability to identify an enhanced sidelink resource pool that includes resources not typically included in configured sidelink resource pools. The UE can identify this enhanced resource pool based on sidelink parameters for transmitting sidelink messages and use it for additional sidelink transmissions. These additional transmissions can include standalone sidelink control information (SCI) transmissions or other types of transmissions related to sidelink communications. The resources in the enhanced resource pool have a finer granularity than those in the base sidelink resource pool configured by the network.
- User equipment (UE) can identify an enhanced sidelink resource pool that includes additional resources not typically included in configured sidelink resource pools.
- The identification of the enhanced resource pool is based on sidelink parameters for transmitting sidelink messages.
- The enhanced resource pool can be used for additional sidelink transmissions, including standalone sidelink control information (SCI) transmissions.
- The resources in the enhanced resource pool have a finer granularity compared to the resources in the base sidelink resource pool configured by the network.
Potential Applications
- This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems, such as cellular networks, to improve sidelink communications.
- It can enhance the reliability and efficiency of sidelink transmissions, allowing for better coordination and control of wireless devices.
- The finer granularity of the enhanced resource pool can enable more precise allocation of resources for specific sidelink communications.
Problems Solved
- The innovation solves the problem of limited resources in configured sidelink resource pools by providing an enhanced resource pool with additional resources.
- It addresses the challenge of coordinating and controlling sidelink transmissions by allowing for standalone sidelink control information (SCI) transmissions.
- The finer granularity of the enhanced resource pool solves the issue of resource allocation precision in sidelink communications.
Benefits
- The ability to identify and use an enhanced sidelink resource pool improves the overall performance and reliability of sidelink communications.
- Standalone sidelink control information (SCI) transmissions enable better coordination and control of wireless devices in sidelink communications.
- The finer granularity of the enhanced resource pool allows for more efficient and precise allocation of resources, optimizing sidelink communications.
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Aspects of the present disclosure provide a user equipment (UE) with a capability to identify an enhanced sidelink resource pool including resources that are otherwise excluded from configured sidelink resource pools. In some examples, the UE may identify the enhanced sidelink resource pool based on sidelink parameters for transmitting one or more sidelink messages, and the UE may use the enhanced sidelink resource pool for additional sidelink transmissions. The additional sidelink transmissions may include standalone sidelink control information (SCI) transmissions or other types of transmissions associated with sidelink communications. The resources associated with the enhanced sidelink resource pool may have a relatively finer granularity than those included within a base sidelink resource pool that is, for example, configured by a network.
