ARRANGEMENT OF SOURCE OR DRAIN CONDUCTORS OF TRANSISTOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17525173 titled 'ARRANGEMENT OF SOURCE OR DRAIN CONDUCTORS OF TRANSISTOR
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes an integrated circuit that includes two conductor segments intersecting active-region structures at source/drain regions. The conductor segments are separated by a distance and have different connections to power rails. The distance from the first power rail to the first conductor segment is larger than the distance from the second power rail to the second conductor segment by a predetermined fraction of the separation distance.
- The integrated circuit includes two conductor segments intersecting active-region structures.
- The conductor segments are separated by a distance.
- The first conductor segment is connected to a first power rail, while the second conductor segment is connected to a second power rail through a via-connector.
- The distance from the first power rail to the first conductor segment is larger than the distance from the second power rail to the second conductor segment by a predetermined fraction of the separation distance.
Potential Applications
- This technology can be applied in various integrated circuit designs.
- It can be used in the development of advanced electronic devices and systems.
Problems Solved
- The design addresses the issue of power distribution in integrated circuits.
- It ensures proper power delivery to different conductor segments.
Benefits
- The design allows for efficient power distribution in integrated circuits.

- The predetermined distance between power rails and conductor segments optimizes power delivery.
Original Abstract Submitted
An integrated circuit includes a first conductor segment intersecting a first active-region structure at a source/drain region and a second conductor segment intersecting a second active-region structure at a source/drain region. The first conductor segment and the second conductor segment are separated at proximal edges by a separation distance. The first conductor has a distal edge separated from a first power rail, and the second conductor segment is connected to a second power rail through a via-connector. A distance from the first power rail to a proximal edge of the first conductor segment is larger than a distance from the second power rail to a proximal edge of the second conductor segment by a predetermined distance that is a fraction of the separation distance.
