RECORDING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18325273 titled 'RECORDING DEVICE
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a recording device with a head that has multiple nozzles for ejecting liquid.
- The nozzles are arranged at specific intervals in a particular direction.
- The device also includes a controller that manages the operation of the head.
- If a certain number of nozzles are found to be abnormal, the controller takes action.
- If the abnormal nozzles are within a specific section of the head with longer intervals between them, the controller instructs the head to eject liquid from the functioning nozzles in that section.
- This allows the device to record an image with a lower resolution in the direction of the longer intervals, while maintaining the original resolution in other directions.
Original Abstract Submitted
A recording device includes a head including a plurality of nozzles that are arranged at predetermined intervals in a first direction, the plurality of nozzles being configured to eject liquid, and a controller. The controller is configured to, in a case where the number of the abnormal nozzles among the plurality of nozzles is equal to or greater than the predetermined number and the number of the abnormal nozzles, among a part of the plurality of nozzles in which an interval in the first direction is a preset interval longer than the predetermined interval, is less than the predetermined number, cause the head to eject liquid from the part of nozzles to record an image with a resolution in which a resolution in the first direction is lower than a resolution corresponding to the predetermined interval.
