apparatuses and method for partial coherent codebook design. a method performed by a user equipment (ue) includes receiving a configuration about an uplink (ul) codebook for eight antenna ports partitioned into n=4 groups, each group comprising two antenna ports; receiving a transmit precoding matrix indicator (tpmi) indicating a precoding matrix (w) from the ul codebook; and transmitting a physical uplink shared channel (pusch) using the precoding matrix (w). w is based on up to k matrices [m. . . . m], where a matrix mis obtained by associating a submatrix s to a group g=(g, g) as m=[ee]s. (g, g) are two ports of the group g, k∈{1, . . . , 4}, j∈{1, . . . ,4 }. edenotes an 8�1 column vector whose k-th entry is 1 and remaining entries are 0.
