DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240260382 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a display device with a window that has both a light shielding region and a transmission region. It includes a display panel and an input detection sensor with complex signal lines connecting electrodes.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Signal lines have multiple bends with decreasing resistances in a specific direction.
  • Signal lines are connected to electrodes based on their distance from the bends.
  • Bends of the signal lines overlap the light shielding region.

Potential Applications: This technology could be used in various display devices, touchscreens, and interactive panels where precise input detection is required.

Problems Solved: The technology addresses the challenge of optimizing signal transmission and input detection in display devices with complex structures.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced input detection accuracy.
  • Improved signal transmission efficiency.
  • Reduction in interference from external light sources.

Commercial Applications: This technology could be valuable in the development of advanced display devices for consumer electronics, automotive displays, and interactive kiosks, enhancing user experience and functionality.

Questions about Display Device Technology: 1. How does the complex signal line design improve input detection accuracy? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this technology in mass-produced display devices?

Original Abstract Submitted

a display device including a window having a light shielding region and a transmission region, a display panel disposed under the window, and an input detection sensor disposed therebetween and including first electrodes, second electrodes, first signal lines connected to one ends of the first electrodes, second signal lines connected to one ends of the second electrodes, and third signal lines connected to the other ends of the second electrodes. each of first to nfirst signal lines includes bent parts bent multiple times, resistances of the bent parts decrease in a first direction, the first to nfirst signal lines are connected to the first electrodes that are arranged farther away from the bent parts in the first direction, and the bent parts of the first to nfirst signal lines overlap the light shielding region.
