disclosed are techniques for wireless positioning. in an aspect, a user equipment (ue) receives one or more positioning reference signal (prs) configurations, performs a first set of positioning measurements of a first set of prs resources indicated by a first prs configuration for a normal mode positioning procedure, transmits a first measurement report for the normal mode positioning procedure, performs a second set of positioning measurements of a second set of prs resources indicated by a second prs configuration for a positioning reference unit (pru) mode positioning procedure, and transmits a second measurement report for the pru mode positioning procedure, wherein a number of the first set of positioning measurements is less than a number of the second set of positioning measurements.
