HYBRID AUTOMATIC REPEAT REQUEST (HARQ) FEEDBACK CONTROL FOR MULTICAST COMMUNICATIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240204920 titled 'HYBRID AUTOMATIC REPEAT REQUEST (HARQ) FEEDBACK CONTROL FOR MULTICAST COMMUNICATIONS
The abstract describes a method for wireless communication by a network node, involving configuring hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for a set of multicast transport blocks (TB) and transmitting this information to a group of user equipment (UEs).
- Configuring HARQ feedback for a set of multicast TB instances
- Transmitting the set of multicast TB instances to the group of UEs
- Sending a downlink control information (DCI) message on a group-common physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) to the UEs
- Receiving HARQ feedback messages from the UEs after transmitting all instances
Potential Applications: - Enhancing wireless communication efficiency in multicast scenarios - Improving reliability and performance of data transmission in networks
Problems Solved: - Efficient configuration of HARQ feedback for multicast TB instances - Streamlining communication processes in wireless networks
Benefits: - Enhanced data transmission reliability - Improved network performance in multicast scenarios
Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhancing Wireless Communication Efficiency in Multicast Networks" This technology can be applied in telecommunications, broadcasting, and content delivery industries to optimize data transmission in multicast scenarios, improving network efficiency and reliability.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does this method improve the reliability of data transmission in multicast scenarios? 2. What are the key advantages of configuring HARQ feedback for multicast TB instances in wireless communication networks?
Original Abstract Submitted
a method for wireless communication by a network node includes transmitting, to a group of user equipment (ues), radio resource control (rrc) signaling to configure a function for enabling and disabling hybrid automatic repeat request (harq) feedback for a set of n instances of a multicast transport block (tb). the method also includes transmitting, to the group of ues, the set of n instances of the multicast tb. the method further includes transmitting, to the group of ues, a downlink control information (dci) message on a group-common physical downlink control channel (pdcch) with a cyclic redundancy check (crc) scrambled by a group-common radio network temporary identifier (rnti) configured for the group of ues. the method also includes receiving, from one or more ues of the group of ues, a harq feedback message associated with one or more instances of the set of n instances after transmitting all n instances.
